Incorporated as a city in the year of 1960, the City of Palm Bay has grown from having 2,808 residents to 107,000, and has become “the Safest City in Brevard County,” according to the FDLE Uniform Crime Report of 2011. Palm Bay is perfectly situated along Florida’s east central coast, midway between Jacksonville and Miami. Off of I-95 take exits 173 and 176. Palm Bay is close to Melbourne and Orlando International Airports. The city also enjoys access to two major waterways, Turkey Creek (freshwater) and the Indian River (saltwater). Beach access is just a short drive over the Melbourne Causeway, and passage from the Indian River into the Indian Ocean can be done up north at Port Canaveral or down south at the Sebastian Inlet.

Housing styles include a wide variety of single family homes, apartments, condominiums, town homes and gated subdivisions.(Jason Greene/Univerity of Central Florida)

Education opportunities include 24 public and private K through Grade 12 schools with excellent grades. Eastern Florida State College (EFSC) Palm Bay Campus prides itself on providing associate and baccalaureate education, as well as serving as a regional campus for the University of Central Florida, which offers several undergraduate programs. EFSC also provides a center for baccalaureate and graduate education through the offerings of Webster University and Barry University. Get more in-depth information about local schools, including direct links to nearby schools, their addresses, and phone numbers.

Expect to have lots of fun with an active community center, nearby waterways, and 29 city parks which include paintball and skateboarding, an aquatic center, a 200 acre regional park, and two public / private golf courses.pb17
